Air con./Refrigeration Mechanic

This position offers an immediate start with guaranteed work until the end of the month, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and site requirements. This is a brilliant opportunity to secure a premium rate on a local commercial site with zero regional travel required.

The Payoff & Hours

• Premium Hourly Rate: $72.00/hr Base + Super (paid weekly).

• Location: Conveniently based in the Brisbane CBD.

• Immediate Income: Secure a highly competitive hourly rate with an immediate start date.

• Extension Potential: Initial contract through to month-end with a view to extend for the right candidate.

The Work

This role spans both commercial maintenance and minor construction services across complex CBD facility assets, with a strong focus on team safety, compliance, and mentoring the next generation.

• HVAC Maintenance & Construction: Carry out refrigeration and air-conditioning works across complex commercial/office buildings.

• Safety & Hazard Management: Comply strictly with WHS legislation, complete daily task risk assessments, and maintain a solid understanding of safe working methods regarding asbestos, lead-based products, and high-risk construction work.

• Digital Literacy: Utilise computer and hand-held electronic devices to manage workflows and input data across Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, etc.).

• Apprentice Mentorship: Take personal responsibility for training, mentoring, and providing professional support to apprentices at all year levels.

• Culture & Conduct: Demonstrate behaviour that supports a diverse, equitable, safe, and highly customer-focused workplace environment.

What You Need

We are looking for a reliable, technically proficient technician who can hit the ground running on-site while maintaining a strong safety mindset.

• Trade Qualified: Cert III in Airconditioning and Refrigeration.

• Licensing: Current Full Refrigerant Handling Licence & Restricted Electrical Licence.

• Safety & Transport: Current Construction Industry White Card & valid Open QLD "C" Class Driver’s Licence.

• Work Rights: Full Australian Working Rights are essential (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident only).

• Compliance: Working knowledge of current WHS and environmental legislation. A Criminal History Check must be successfully completed prior to commencement.
